PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN
Patient Care Technician (PCT), Patient Care Associate (PCA), Emergency Room Technician (ERT). What do they have in common? They are all different names for the same important position within a healthcare team. PCTs provide needed assistance to physicians and nurses with patient care in hospitals, emergency rooms, doctors’ offices, clinics, dialysis centers, and just about any other type of medical facility. PCTs are expected to know how to provide treatment, comfort, and care to patients with all types of injuries and illnesses.

Every student will also become certified by the American Heart Association in Basic Cardiac Life Support. After the in-class program, students will complete a Clinical Rotation at a medical facility, during which they will utilize their newly acquired skills under the supervision of an experience healthcare provider. This is an exciting and unique experience to gain hands-on experience helping patients. And, upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible for National Certification through National Center for Competency Testing, NCCT, for Patient Care Technician and EKG Technician.
